Hello everyone! My name is Danielle and I am in my senior year at Tufts University. I major in environmental engineering and I began studying Japanese language in my sophomore year of college. Outside of my classes , I am the president of the National Society of Black Engineers (NSBE) at Tufts and I also play the clarinet in the university Wind Ensemble. My strict engineering curriculum restricts how many Japanese language courses I can take but I love finding fun and creative ways to continue learning about Japanese culture outside of the classroom. With that said, the opportunity to travel to Japan with the 63rd JASC was truly a dream come true for me.
I value my experience as a delegate to the 63rd JASC largely because I met so many intelligent and amazing people who have changed how I perceive the world. JASC fosters a unique learning environment for students to think critically about society and to connect with one another through cultural exchange. I am incredibly excited and honored to be a part of the JASC tradition and to help make the 64th JASC unforgettable for the next round of delegates.
